Trading Risk Disclaimer

Last updated: June 23, 2026
You can lose money — possibly all of it — using Forge. Futures trading involves substantial risk and is not suitable for every investor. The leverage available on futures means a small adverse price move can wipe out an entire account. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

The honest baseline

The majority of retail futures traders lose money. This is well-documented across decades of broker disclosures and academic studies. There is no software, including Forge, that changes the fundamental statistics of trading.

If you can't afford to lose every dollar in the account you connect, do not flip Forge to live mode.

What "past performance" means here

Anywhere on the Forge website you see numbers — backtest equity curves, the creator's funded-account stats, win rates, R-multiples, profit factors, monthly returns — those numbers are historical. They describe what happened. They do not predict what will happen.

Forge is not a fiduciary

We are not registered as a Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) with the CFTC, not registered with the NFA, not a Series-3 holder, and not an SEC-registered investment advisor. We do not provide personalized investment advice. We sell a software tool. Anything that looks like advice on the website is general information about how the tool works, not a recommendation to trade.

Hypothetical performance disclaimer

Required by the CFTC for hypothetical/backtest results shown on the site:

Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations, some of which are described below. No representation is being made that any account will or is likely to achieve profits or losses similar to those shown. In fact, there are frequently sharp differences between hypothetical performance results and the actual results subsequently achieved by any particular trading program. One of the limitations of hypothetical performance results is that they are generally prepared with the benefit of hindsight. In addition, hypothetical trading does not involve financial risk, and no hypothetical trading record can completely account for the impact of financial risk in actual trading. For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect actual trading results.
